He is a founding partner at Tristan Capital Partners, a British property investment firm and chair of The Black Heart foundation – a charity which is dedicated to supporting initiatives that improve educational benefits for under-resourced young people and providing opportunity to those who are otherwise denied it.
His vision, humility and passion for success provide many immediate takeaways and practical tips for our listeners.

E75 - Olympics Special #3: Adam Peaty
Adam Peaty is the first British swimmer to retain their Olympic title after winning Team GB's first gold medal of Tokyo 2020 with victory in the men's 100m breaststroke.
Adam now has the 16 quickest times in history over the 100m breaststroke and is the only swimmer ever to dip under 57 seconds with his 2019 world record.
With eight world titles, 16 European titles, Adam is one of GB’s greatest Olympian’s of all time.

E74 - Mel Marshall: The art and science of great coaching
Mel Marshall is the current Loughborough National Lead Coach where her swimmers include Olympic winning swimmer Adam Peaty.
Mel has overseen Adam Peaty's rise to the top of the international swimming stage, coaching him to gold medal success at every level - Olympic, World, European, Commonwealth and British.
In 2015 and 2016 Mel was awarded the title of British Swimming Coach of the Year. Before turning her hand to coaching, Mel had a successful career as a swimmer herself which included winning six medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Australia and Bronze at the World Short Course Championships in 2008.
Mel was awarded an MBE for her services to swimming and charity in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list 2021.

Kate Richardson-Walsh is the most capped female hockey player in her country's history. Kate was captain of GB women’s hockey teams for 13 years and was one of the many key drivers of the incredible team ethos and commitment that drove the GB team to a nail biting victory at the Rio Olympic Games. One of UK's greatest Olympic moments of all time. Kate also made history in other ways, becoming one half of the first same-sex married couple to win an Olympic medal playing in the same team.

E72 - Sir Ian McGeechan: Doing the world class basics
Sir Ian McGeechan is distinguished as one of Rugby’s most popular and well regarded figures, most notably for being a true legend of the world’s most famous touring team - the British & Irish Lions. He is only person to have tasted series success as both a player and a coach.
During his playing career Ian won 32 caps for Scotland. He toured with the British Lions as a player in 1974 in the unbeaten tour to South Africa and in 1977 to New Zealand playing all eight tests. During his coaching career he spent five years with Northampton Saints after which he was appointed Head Coach at Scotland.
A PE and Geography teacher by profession, Ian has a great empathy with players, an ability to get the right people around him and is incredibly knowledgeable about the game. His quiet passion and determination to achieve excellence offer some fascinating insights about the nature of success, not just in sport but also within business.

E71 - Olympics Special #1 - Ian Thorpe
Ian Thorpe won five Olympic gold medals, the greatest total of any Australian. As his first Olympics approached, in Sydney, he had broken 10 world records - four of them in four days at the 1999 Pan Pacific titles. On the first night of Sydney 2000 he won the 400m freestyle, breaking his own word record, then combined with his team to inflict the United States’ first defeat ever in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay, setting another world record.
At Athens 2004, Ian won the 200m freestyle - billed as “the race of the century” - against Dutchman Pieter van den Hoogenband and American Michael Phelps.
In April 2018, Ian was awarded an Order of Merit by the Australian Olympic Committee.

E70 - Mary Portas: Changing your thinking to change your results
Mary Portas is an expert on retail and brand communication. Since 1997 she has been running Portas, a brand agency, producing challenging campaigns and championing brand development for clients.
She is credited with turning Harvey Nichols into a modern fashion brand in the ’90s. She became a member of the company’s board at the age of 30. She previously worked with John Lewis and Topshop.
In 2011 Mary was commissioned by Prime Minister David Cameron to lead an independent review into the Future of the High Street. She delivered the report in outlining 28 recommendations for rescuing the nation’s failing high streets. Her proudest achievement to date, is the creation of Mary’s Living and Giving shops for Save The Children. Currently the most profitable charity shops in the UK, she has so far opened 25 and has raised over £13 million and counting.
Mary’s latest book ‘Rebuild: How to thrive in the new Kindness Economy’ is out now.
